The areas of the game have some exploration, having more room to do and find stuff as the story progress, there you can find fragments(getting three of these will grant you Lingerie), money on boxes, challenges(that will reward you with Lingerie) or the Keepers, wich ones will teleport you into another area if your Rack Level is high enough and will give you SURPRISE. Still tries to keep coherence to some point. Another thing that I didn't say was that to treat the virus they must train and fight each other, so the excuse that you'll see almost every time is that they must fight because that's what they came for. Also the excuses to fight sometimes are kinda weak and can be unclaear from time to time. Talking about the characters, there are too few of them, like the game misses a couple more of characters because since there aren't too many of them you'll be fighting the same characters for almost 70% of the game, something that can fed up a little. The cast of characters is credible, interesting and the majority are well developed with a couple of exceptions I'll mention. Plot overall is fine, coming from Senran Kagura it surprised me how well planned is the story(taking into acount that after all this keeps being a game centered on breaking the girls clothes and all that), even still there are some plot holes and some things that makes no sense. After that they're introduced into a class for VR students only, where there are another five girls like them, Momo, Mana, Viola, Mampukumaru and Koharu. Something that Rinka and Ranka already knew and thought that everyone were like them. As the story progress is revealed to them that they're infected with a rare strain of the virus called VR wich not only lets you transform into Extar, but into Liberator as well. ![]() The story starts with Rinka and Ranka, two sisters that arrives on a very suspicious island to cure their disease, the V virus, wich turns people into weapons. Then you have Connect, wich is a transformation that uses your Synchro Gauge(the violet bar) and grants you invulneravility until that Gauge runs out, is very similar to the Frantic from Senran Kagura but it takes a more Defense Orientated aproach. The Drives changes your moveset and grants you with unique skills that are really strong and can end a battle with one hit. You can keep doing this infinitely depending on the hight you're on because if you're at a certain heihgt the game will say NO and will end you combo with a Phantom Fall, wich basically attacks while falling ending your combo.Īnother mechanic you can use in the game is Drive, wich is divided on four levels, depending on what level your Extar is. Every one of these have three levels, performing one after another you can keep doing it. After the Phantom chase you can either perform a Phantom Dance, Phantom Strike, Phantom Blast among others. You can perform those after pressing Circle and performing a Phantom chase(keeping pressed the X). All the characters have a limited number of combos and kinda lacks variety tbh but there are the Pahntom Strike, Phantom Blast and all those things with wich you can create a stupidly amount of combos and attacks that feels and looks just great. Missions are done in areas divided by little loading screens where we fight against a great amount of enemies, wich some of these have a very basic AI but know when attack and sometimes wait for you to center on another enemy before attacking you, like the Mages or the Leaders do, damn those two.Ĭombat itself is really basic, but you can make it as complex as you want, let me explain myself. VDB is an action beat'em up in 3D enviroments that centers in using pair of characters to fight, where one of these becomes the Extar(the weapon) and the other one becomes the Liberator(who wields that weapon).
